Course Description:

Before beginning the Instructor training process, candidates must have a current provider course card for their chosen discipline, and must align with an American Heart Association Training Center that is accepting new Instructors in their chosen discipline.

American Heart Association Instructor training consists of three stages:
1.  The Instructor candidate takes the self-directed online Instructor Essentials portion in his or her chosen discipline.
2.  The Instructor candidate takes the hands-on session conducted by training center faculty.
3.  Instructor candidate must be monitored for two BLS Courses.  Upon successful completion of the three stages, candidates receive an Instructor card, valid for two years.

Instructor Essentials
A required part of the training process for new Instructors, the online Instructor Essentials courses include information that Instructors need in order to teach American Heart Association courses. Each Instructor Essentials course includes core information about teaching American Heart Association courses, with the remainder of the presentation focused on discipline-specific information.

This Web-based eLearning course includes essential information for BLS Instructor candidates. Candidates who successfully complete the course receive access to a printable certificate granting them entrance to the in-person, classroom portion, faculty-led BLS Instructor course, which they must pass (along with faculty monitoring of the first two courses they teach) to qualify for a BLS Instructor card. PC and Mac® OSX compatible (not compatible with iOS).

The access key and instructions on how to log in and register for the course will be e-mailed to you, usually within 2 business days. NOTE: You must purchase one online access key for each candidate trained. This product is not eligible for the standard 30-day return policy.

The classroom portion is being held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 09:00 - 16:00 at our Quincy location.  Please bring your Certificate of Completion from the Online portion along with your AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card to the classroom portion.   As you are pre-registering for this course and course materials are ordered for your participation in this course, the course tuition fee is non refundable.

This course does not include individual Instructor Manuals as there are several different disciplines and each discipline has its own Instructor Manual.  If you wish to purchase an Instructor Manual, you may do so on anyone of the three following websites:
